Through every chapter of life, Walgreens has always been there for us. Every year, folks on Medicare have to re-enroll and pick their pharmacy, which is a big deal for places like Walgreens -not just for prescriptions, but for everything else people grab when they stop by. The challenge? There’s nothing really unique about Medicare plans across stores. So we leaned into what makes Walgreens different: the emotional bond it’s built over the years. And in a market full of similar choices, we didn’t try to woo seniors with clichés. These are vibrant, experienced people who’ve seen it all—we just reminded them that Walgreens has always been there, so why change now?
When we filmed this in Australia (virtually, thanks to COVID), the team got super creative to keep everyone safe—huge shout out to those 3 a.m. castings and shoot days! Crazy fact: the mother and daughter in the ad were never actually on set together.
